Sycamore Class

Sycamore Class is based at the secondary site in a modular building shared with Oak Class. There are six pupils in our class ranging from Year 8 to Year 12. We are a lively, busy and fun class who love to be out and about.

We love to be active and to spend as much time as possible learning outside; this helps to ensure that we are well regulated and ready to learn. We particularly enjoy looking after the sensory garden and spending time with our friends practising our physical, communication and social skills. The swings and trampoline are both very popular, we have been working hard developing our turn taking and listening skills to be able to calmly listen to a range of requests and instructions.

We are getting really good at following our schedules and knowing where we are meant to be throughout the day, both in class and around the school site. We are really enjoying being out and about regularly in the local community and have enjoyed trips to local facilities including parks, the forest and Lepe Country Park.

Sycamore Class have continued to benefit from the blocks of swimming sessions at Romsey Rapids.  This has proven to be a real success for all of us and we have developed our confidence in the water, alongside some new swimming skills.
