Post-16 Courses and Accreditation
As students move into the Post-16 phase of their education, their strengths and interests are key to creating a highly personalised and bespoke curriculum pathway. The curriculum and courses on offer are developed in line with students complex and wide-ranging needs. In addition, the curriculum at Post-16 aims to provide young people with opportunities to learn essential skills that prepare them for their future adult life.
The curriculum offers students the opportunity to gain accreditation through ASDAN Personal Progress. These qualifications are designed to address the needs of our pupils and ensure that all learners are given the equal opportunities to access appropriate and relevant course content to develop new skills and prepare them for future adult placements. Pupils study ASDAN Personal Progress units throughout their three years within Post 16 and will leave us with a recognised qualification working at Entry 1 level. These units are selected in line with pupil interest and needs to support application and generalisation of functional life skills. Our SEEDS pathway is designed for our more sensory based and complex learners. Our Roots and Shoots pathway has been designed for our more practical based learners showing some independence within their functional skills.
