Pupil Premium
PUPIL PREMIUM STRATEGY
Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include students who are entitled to free school meals; children looked after by the local authority and the children of armed service personnel.
The Pupil Premium strategy is focussed on the needs of disadvantaged pupils but it will benefit all within the school where funding is spent on whole school approaches, such as high-quality teaching. Implicit in the intended outcomes of our plan is the intention that outcomes for non-disadvantaged pupils will be improved alongside progress for their disadvantaged peers.
The funding enables the school to enhance the provision and provide focussed support for those pupils who may need a greater level of intervention.
We will also provide disadvantaged pupils with support to develop independence and social skills and to achieve their full potential to ensure that they are able to move onto appropriate adult placements and lead fulfilling lives after school.
