Panda Class

In Panda Class we have 10 Pupils; three girls and seven boys ranging from Year 1 to Year 3.

Every other day we focus heavily on literacy or maths in the mornings and incorporate this through a classroom carousel with a variety of learning activities linked to our topic, current story or individual Key Skills targets. We work 1:1 with staff each day, working on meeting our Key Skill targets as well as engage in independent activities and paired tasks.

We really enjoy circle time and finding out how everyone is feeing ready for the day ahead. We like to check in throughout the day on everyone’s emotions as well and track how we are feeling on our Zones of Regulation boards.

Our focus this year is to work on and develop our independence as much as possible. We are trying to be more independent in all aspects of our daily routines and are working on this through challenges and activities daily.

We love to be active in Panda Class and when we see PE, Swimming or sensory sessions on our class timetable we become excited and are on the countdown to that activity!  We love to climb, play with our peers and work on our fine and gross motor skills.

We are also very sociable in Panda Class and we have welcomed some new children into our class this year very warmly. We love it when our friends are all together and have started to become really good at working together to share puzzles and games and activities as well as play with lots of our peers out on the playground!
