Maple Class

Welcome to Maple Class.  We have a mix of year groups ranging from Year 11 to Year 14 with 9 students in total.  We work across two classrooms in a modular building on the Secondary site.

Our learning is very much focussed on developing our life skills in class and through our Enterprise projects including: cooking our own lunches through the ‘Catering Enterprise’ group; growing and caring for plants in the allotment through the ‘Horticulture Enterprise’ group and creating products to sell through our ‘Crafts Enterprise’ group. 

In addition, we all have personalised Key Skills targets that support our individual development which are worked on throughout the day and can be linked through our learning in the Enterprise groups

We also enjoy visiting the local community to practise our functional skills to prepare ourselves for our adult lives. Our main focus areas include: independence, communication and generalising our literacy and numeracy skills to support our problem solving within everyday living skills.
