Lion Class

Lion Class provides exciting and engaging opportunities for Key Stage 2 pupils; we are a mixed Year 3/4 class of 10 pupils.

Pupils access their learning in a structured carousel approach with opportunities for 1:1 work - to work on individualised key skills; group work- learning new skills; bay work- an opportunity to practice and reinforce skills and ‘choose’ - an opportunity to purposefully choose learning opportunities linked to the topic and develop their interests.

As a class we are thoroughly enjoying opportunities for sensory play as well as exploring new tastes and textures. We are really developing our ability to take turns and develop our attention and listening skills; this is most evident in our engagement in weekly Attention Bucket sessions.

We also engage with regular feelings and emotions check-ins using our Zones of Regulation and are increasingly able to verbalise how we feel and why.  Each week we engage in signing and signing different songs and have learnt to sign a variety of emotions. We are looking forward to planning some trips out this year and developing our knowledge and awareness of the World Around Us.
